The peace lily is a beautiful home plant for anyone. From beginners without experience to people who have enough plants to provide nurseries, the peace lily plant or Spathiphyllum deserves space in your home.

They are one of the best indoor air purifier plants. Studies by NASA have found peace lilies are useful for removing some of benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene (industrial solvents) from the air.

Most plants will only flower if they are satisfied in all aspects of their lives. Peace lilies will never bloom in really shady places. They need direct sunlight to create enough energy to make flowers.

They usually send flowers first in spring and will bloom all summer in ideal conditions. The flowers usually last 3 to 6 weeks and turn green when they come out. When this happens, cut the flower at the very bottom of the stem. To produce flowers, this plant needs some, but not too much fertilizer.

This plant needs potassium in the soil to make flowers. Give fertilizer plants 20-20-20 at 1/4 to 1/2 strength every two months between spring and early fall. Fully powered fertilizer is too strong for peace lilies. Do not fertilize in late fall or early winter, because most plants are inactive. It will not use this nutrient, so when it starts growing in spring the plant can be over-fertilized.

While this guide might make lilies look involved and difficult, it really isn’t. Once you have the right pots, the right place, and the right watering schedule, the plant will take care of itself. Even if you don’t do everything right, the peace lily will probably still be alive.

Remember to obscure plants whenever that thought comes to mind. It is very difficult to confuse the lily peacefully. Water them every 7-10 days in summer and less often in winter. Give them a weak fertilizer once or twice in spring and summer. With this treatment, you will almost certainly have healthy, beautiful, and air-purifying lily flowers!
