Hiring And Recruitment Differences

Hiring and recruitment is the process of finding human resources to meet the needs of the company’s organization. In hiring, recruiters are reactive. Hiring is carried out in response to the company’s need for new roles or to fill vacant positions left by employees due to resignation. Recruiters do not hire when all positions are filled. On the other hand, recruitment requires a proactive approach. Even though the company is not currently in need of new workers, HR or talent acquisition specialists monitor the best employees internally and look for great candidates (including passive candidates) outside the company, approach, establish communication, maintain relationships with candidates, and enter their profiles in a pooled database.

Meanwhile, recruitment is more focused on marketing the company. The recruiter builds the company’s reputation, strengthens the employer brand, and offers an employee value proposition or the value of benefits that the company provides to employees. In recruitment, recruiters convince the best candidates to be willing to work in the company concerned, especially for important roles (senior-level) with specific types of skills.
