There are four kinds in relation to marketing channels, namely:

1. Zero-level channel (Producer -> Customer)
Manufacturers sell products or offer services directly to customers without involving agents, distributors, retailers, or other middlemen. Consumers go directly to producers to buy products without going through other channels.

2. Tier one channel (Producer -> Retailer -> Consumer)
Retailers buy products from manufacturers and sell them directly to consumers. This channel is best suited for manufacturers producing grocery items such as clothing, shoes, furniture, tableware, and toys.

3. Tier two channels (Manufacturers -> Wholesalers -> Retailers -> Customers)
Wholesalers purchase goods from producers and resell them to customers. Consumers can purchase goods in large quantities directly from wholesalers through this method. By buying goods in bulk from wholesalers, the price of goods is reduced. This is because wholesalers eliminate additional costs, such as service fees or sales force fees, that customers typically pay when buying from retail; making prices much cheaper for consumers.

4. Tier Three Channels (Manufacturer -> Agent/Broker -> Wholesaler or Retailer -> Customer)
This distribution channel involves more than one intermediary before the product reaches the consumer. An intermediary, known as an agent, assists in negotiations between the manufacturer and the seller. Agents come into play when manufacturers need to get their products to market as quickly as possible.
